"In the process of construction, State Grid really farewell the concept of Green Olympics, build a green electricity trading platform for Beijing Winter Olympics, launch green electricity trading, and complete 100% green power supply for all venues for the first time in the Olympic history." Wang Yanfang, deputy director of the Publicity Department of State Grid Corporation of China, told reporters that as the official partner of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and winter Paralympic Games, State Grid will carry out the construction of "three types and two networks" pilot demonstration area in an all-round way from the aspects of power supply, power transportation, venue energy use, etc.
The power grid construction project of State Grid mainly involves 25 supporting power grid projects of 110kV and above Winter Olympic Games, 10 kV supporting power grid projects of venues, and experimental demonstration project of Zhangbei flexible DC power grid in Beijing urban area, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Now, the related power grid project of the Winter Olympic Games has entered the comprehensive construction stage.
Yang Zhidong, director of the Winter Olympics Office of State Grid Beijing electric power company, said that actively carrying out green power business and calculating the environmental protection account of "low-carbon Winter Olympics" is not only a detailed measure to implement the concept of Green Olympics and complete the bid promise, but also an important promotion to promote the development of clean power and serve the construction of ecological civilization in China. The State Grid actively connects with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympic Games, and jointly negotiates matters related to the participation of Winter Olympic venues in green power trading. It arranges power generation enterprises such as China Huadian Group and Beijing Energy Group to sign green power trading intention agreements with Winter Olympic venues. It plans to introduce clean power such as wind power and photovoltaic to deliver clean power such as Zhangbei wind power to the venues through market-oriented direct purchase of green power, which is satisfactory for the Winter Olympic Games. The annual electricity demand of 100 million kwh for 16 venues in Beijing will be met.
Zhangbei flexible DC power grid experimental demonstration project is the first four terminal flexible DC power grid in the world to transport large-scale wind power, photovoltaic, pumped storage and other power. The project will be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2020. At that time, it will deliver about 22.5 billion kilowatt hours of clean power to Beijing every year, equivalent to 7.8 million tons of standard coal and 20.4 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction. It will provide strong support for satisfying the demand for green power supply in the Winter Olympic Games area and venues.
In June this year, Beijing electric power trading center arranged for the first time to carry out direct green power trading in Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic venues from July to December 2019, with a volume of 500 million kwh. At that time, the green power business operation of Beijing Winter Olympic venues was ready. The first seven Winter Olympic venues and supporting service equipment officially used green power on July 1. According to the budget, 16000 tons of standard coal and 40000 tons of carbon dioxide could be reduced.
State Grid actively launched the construction of "three types and two networks" in the Winter Olympic Games area, creating a demonstration model of "three types and two networks". Wang Yanfang pointed out that "three types and two networks", i.e. hub type, platform type and sharing type; strong smart grid and ubiquitous power Internet of things, are the strategic objectives proposed by State Grid at the beginning of this year. The State Grid has made full use of modern information skills such as mobile Internet and artificial intelligence, and advanced communication skills to build the Winter Olympic power intelligent service system, and has built the Winter Olympic venues into a typical practice and demonstration model of "three types and two networks".
For example, in the core area of Chongli Olympic Games in Zhangjiakou, State Grid has built a comprehensive demonstration and panoramic holographic intelligent command platform for ubiquitous power Internet of things. This platform can finish the Winter Olympics, ensure the panoramic real-time perception, dynamic control, intelligent analysis and early warning, multi-level collaborative command, mobile intelligent interaction and other functions, and support the intelligent command and panoramic display of "green winter Olympics".
In addition, the State Grid has adopted measures to promote clean, warm and green travel around venues and along transportation routes. Zhu Jiong, deputy director of marketing department of State Grid Corporation of China, said that at present, the surrounding areas of Beijing Winter Olympic Games have been completely coal free, and a total of 163 villages have completed coal to electricity conversion, with 64000 households; Zhangjiakou district is assisting the government departments to carry out the task of coal to electricity conversion to ensure the villages and households, and it is expected to complete the coal to electricity conversion project for 50000 households, so as to ensure the clean heating and full coverage around the Winter Olympic venues and along the transportation lines.
Zhu Jiong indicated that in order to ensure the green travel of electric vehicles around the Winter Olympic venues, the company will promote the construction of charging equipment around the service area of Beijing Zhangjiakou expressway, transportation hub, travel area around the venues, etc., and it is expected to complete the operation of Beijing Tibet expressway service area, Beijing new expressway service area and Zhangjiakou Ningyuan airport charging station by the end of 2019, and Beijing Li expressway service area and Beijing Zhangjiakou airport charging station by the end of 2020. Zhangjiakou high-speed railway charging station will be completed by the end of 2021, including parking lot around the Winter Olympic Stadium and charging station for key tourist attractions.
