Up to now, the unit has been delayed for nearly 12 years, and the cost has surged to three times the initial budget (about $3.4 billion).
Olkiloto unit 3 was originally scheduled to start loading in June 2020. But on April 8th TVO said Areva in France and Siemens in Germany had told the company that the unit would not be able to load as planned, and that conventional unit generation might be delayed.
TVO leakage, due to the adoption of relevant epidemic prevention measures, now, olkiloto unit 3 construction project is not as planned. The unit was originally scheduled to start commercial operation in March 2021.
