What is the dielectric loss factor of insulating oil?

:2023-04-27 15:34:18:

Under the action of the alternating electric field generated by alternating current, insulating oil theoretically only passes through a weak capacitive current inside the medium, which is 90 ° ahead of the phase of the applied voltage, only affecting the power factor of electrical equipment without generating power loss. But in reality, there may be internal charge imbalance in the oil, or polar molecules generated due to the action of an electric field, which can act as conductors, leading to resistive conduction current (or leakage current). This current is in phase with the applied voltage, therefore it is active current and can cause power loss, known as the "dielectric loss" of insulating oil. The ratio of conduction current to capacitance current, tan6, is called the "dielectric loss factor". The larger the dielectric loss factor, the higher the power loss of the oil. The power loss of oil is directly proportional to the dielectric loss factor. That is to say, the insulation characteristics of oil are determined by the dielectric loss factor. Therefore, the power loss of insulating oil is usually represented by the dielectric loss factor instead of the loss of power.

In the preventive insulation test of power equipment, it is required to regularly measure the insulation oil parameters of the power equipment. The measurement of dielectric loss and resistivity of insulating oil is an important aspect. For a long time, the bridge method has been widely used for measurement, which is cumbersome and the measurement accuracy is affected by many factors, resulting in large measurement errors. The ZC-211D insulation oil dielectric loss tester integrates main components such as dielectric loss oil cup, temperature controller, temperature sensor, dielectric loss test bridge, AC test power supply, standard capacitor, high resistance meter, DC high voltage source, etc. The heating part adopts the most advanced high-frequency induction heating method currently, which has the advantages of non-contact between the oil cup and the heating body, uniform heating, fast speed, and convenient control. The internal standard capacitor is an SF6 inflatable three pole capacitor, and the dielectric loss and capacitance of this capacitor are not affected by environmental temperature, humidity, etc., ensuring that the accuracy of the instrument remains consistent after long-term use.
