Step ①: Before conducting the load test, install the high-voltage shielded microampere meter on the high-voltage output end of the voltage doubling cylinder, and connect the matching high-voltage wire to the microampere meter and the test object respectively.
Step ②: Check whether the host, discharge rod, double voltage cylinder, test sample connection wire, and grounding wire are connected correctly, whether the grounding wire is reliable, and whether the high-voltage safety distance meets the requirements before conducting the high-voltage test.
Step ③: After confirming that there are no abnormalities in the instrument, turn on the AC220V power switch. At this time, the red light is on, indicating that the power is on. Press the green button, the green light is on, indicating that the high voltage is on, and a boost test can be conducted.
Step ④: Slowly adjust the voltage regulating potentiometer in a clockwise direction, and the output end will increase voltage from zero. The speed of voltage increase should be 3-5 kV per second to reach the test voltage. For large capacitance test samples, it is necessary to slowly boost the voltage, and a current limiting resistor should be connected in series in the high-voltage circuit. At the same time, the value of the ammeter head should not exceed the rated current value of the instrument. Slowly increase the voltage (current) to 95% of the required voltage (current) for small capacitor samples such as zinc oxide lightning arrester and magnetic blowing lightning arrester, and then slowly increase to the required voltage (current). Then read the voltage (current) value from the digital display meter. To measure the 0.75UDC1mA of zinc oxide lightning arrester, first increase the voltage to UDC1mA, and then press the 0.75UDC1mA button (yellow). At this point, the voltage drops to the original 75% and remains in this state. At this point, the current can be read. After the measurement is completed, reduce the voltage, reset the voltage regulating potentiometer to zero, and press the red button to cut off the high-voltage output. If you need to boost the voltage again, press the green button.
Step ⑤: After the test is completed, reduce the voltage, reset the voltage regulating potentiometer to zero, press the red button, cut off the high voltage, and turn off the power switch.
Step ⑥: For small capacitors such as zinc oxide lightning arresters, they are generally discharged through internal voltage divider resistors through voltage doubling. For large capacitance test objects such as cables, it is generally necessary to wait for the voltage of the test object to self discharge to below 20% of the test voltage, and then discharge through the matching discharge rod. After the tested object is fully discharged, hang the ground wire to the high-voltage output terminal before proceeding with the removal and replacement of the high-voltage lead wire.
