Comprehensive Analysis and Application Guide of Transformer Demagnetization Instrument

Transformer demagnetization device is a specialized equipment designed for eliminating residual magnetism in large transformers and other electromagnetic equipment. The following is a detailed introduction about the transformer demagnetization device:

1. Main functions

① Eliminating residual magnetism:

The transformer demagnetizer uses ultra-low frequency attenuated alternating current for demagnetization, effectively eliminating residual magnetism in transformers after DC resistance testing and other operations.

The elimination of residual magnetism helps prevent half cycle saturation and harmonic increase caused by iron core residual magnetism during transformer operation, thereby reducing reactive power consumption and avoiding relay protection misoperation.

② Protection transformer:

Protect transformers from the impact of excitation inrush current, ensure safe operation of transformers, and extend their lifespan.

Prevent transformer and circuit breaker damage caused by residual magnetism due to excessive electrical force, as well as triggering overvoltage and damaging electrical equipment.

2. Technical features

① Fast demagnetization speed:

Three phase transformers can be demagnetized once or twice, and the demagnetization process is efficient and fast.

② Multiple demagnetization currents:

The instrument offers multiple demagnetization current options, such as 10A, 5A, 1A, 500mA, and 200mA, to meet different testing needs.

③ Visual control:

Equipped with complete data management software and a 7-inch LCD control screen, it can monitor and record the entire process of each demagnetization operation.

④ Built in monitor:

Equipped with built-in voltage and field strength monitors, it ensures that the voltage and field strength meet the rated standards during discharge, ensuring the effectiveness of demagnetization operations.

⑤ Extended functions:

Equipped with a USB interface, it can import data such as destruction logs into a USB drive and also connect to a computer for further analysis.

3. Usage method

① Connect power and ground:

Connect the instrument to an external AC 220V power supply using a power cord, and connect the instrument's grounding terminal to the grounding body using a grounding wire.

② Wiring and mode selection:

The demagnetization output terminal is connected to the demagnetized phase on the high voltage side of the transformer (three-phase transformers usually only demagnetize phase B).

The system automatically enters the "Auto/Manual Mode" selection menu, and selects and determines the demagnetization mode through the "Reset" and "Start" keys.

③ Start demagnetization:

After pressing the "Start" button, the system begins the demagnetization process and displays the demagnetization progress on the LCD screen.

④ Discharge and End:

After demagnetization is completed, the system automatically discharges and displays "discharging" on the LCD screen. After the discharge is completed, turn off the power switch of the instrument, remove the wiring, and restore the state before the test.

4. Precautions

① Safe grounding:

Before use, confirm whether the grounding wire is firmly grounded to ensure safety.

② Electrical verification operation:

Before demagnetization, the transformer should be checked for electricity, and only after confirming that there is no electricity can the operator proceed with wiring.

③ Protective measures:

Take safety precautions when wiring the high-voltage side outlet bushing of the transformer to prevent the wiring personnel from falling from a height.

In summary, transformer demagnetization devices play an important role in protecting the safe operation of transformers, extending their lifespan, and reducing power failures. Users should strictly follow the instructions when using to ensure safety and effectiveness.

ZC-227 power Transformer degaussing instrument is a specialized equipment for eliminating residual magnetization hazards after DC resistance testing of large power transformers. It plays an extremely important role in protecting power transformers from excitation inrush current impacts and ensuring safe operation. Due to the presence of residual magnetism, when the transformer is put into operation, the residual magnetism of the iron core saturates the transformer's half cycle, generating a large number of harmonics in the excitation current. This not only increases the reactive power consumption of the transformer, but may also cause misoperation of the relay protector, resulting in certain economic losses. So we must do demagnetization work before the transformer is put into operation to ensure the safe and normal operation of the transformer.
