The maintenance and upkeep techniques for oil immersed test transformers mainly involve the following aspects:

1. Preventing oil leakage:

Oil immersed transformers are filled with transformer oil in the oil tank and sealed by applying pressure to the oil resistant rubber components using fasteners during assembly. Poor sealing is the main cause of oil leakage in transformers, so special attention should be paid.

Check if the small bolts have become loose due to vibration, tighten them if necessary, and ensure that the tightening is appropriate and consistent throughout.

Check if the rubber parts are broken or severely deformed, and replace them promptly if necessary. When replacing, attention should be paid to whether the model and specifications are consistent, and the sealing surface should be kept clean.

2. Preventing transformers from getting damp:

Oil immersed test transformers are high-voltage equipment that require good insulation performance to be maintained. Preventing moisture is one of the important measures for maintaining transformers.

Once the transformer is transported to the site, a moisture absorber should be installed immediately to prevent the internal body from getting damp.

Monitor the silicone in the moisture absorber and replace it immediately if it becomes damp. Silicone plays a role in absorbing moisture and protecting transformers.

3. Daily inspection and maintenance:

Disconnect the low-voltage side circuit breaker of the transformer to be repaired, pull down the isolation switch, and hang the corresponding nameplate.

Disconnect the high voltage side load switch of the oil immersed transformer, confirm that it is in the disconnected position, close the grounding knife, and ensure the safety of the switch and hang the relevant nameplate.

After entering the oil immersed power transformer room, use a high-voltage tester to confirm whether the transformer is in a power outage state.

Check if the shell, porcelain bottle, and leads are deformed, and replace them if damaged.

Check if the oil level is normal, and replace the gasket if there is any oil leakage.

4. Environmental and operational requirements:

Ensure that oil immersed transformers are used in a non corrosive environment, with an ambient temperature between -30 ℃ and+40 ℃ and a wind speed not exceeding 350 m/s.

High voltage operators should wear insulated shoes and gloves.

Prevent reverse transmission of electrical energy to the transformer and discharge to the busbar during transformer operation.

5. Oil quality inspection:

Check if the oil quality of the oil immersed test transformer is good. Good oil should be transparent with a slight yellow color.

6. Sound monitoring:

Check if the sound emitted by the device is normal during operation, and the normal sound should be an electromagnetic "buzzing" sound.

7. Cleaning work:

The test transformer should be kept clean regularly. Before each test, the nylon sleeve should be wiped clean and covered with a plastic cloth.
