It is reported that Amazon has promised that enterprises will achieve 80% renewable energy power target in 2024, 100% by 2030 and zero carbon net emissions by 2040. To achieve this, it is supporting clean energy projects in Europe, the United States and Australia.
Over the years, Amazon has signed orders for renewable power almost all over the world. In addition to purchasing power from Australia's 60 MW solar power generation capacity in NSW, Amazon will also receive clean power from 122mw onshore wind power in vasternorlland, Sweden (expected to start production in 2022) and a 50 MW new solar power plant in Zaragoza, Spain.
The 65mw photovoltaic power generation project invested by Amazon in the United States is located in Halifax County, Virginia. Another new solar power project located in pitswarnia county will provide power for Amazon's new headquarters and other businesses throughout the federal region, including the whole food supermarket and logistics center.
In the future, these four new renewable energy projects will provide nearly 300MW of capacity and about 840000mwh of additional renewable energy to the grid to provide energy for the company's data center.
So far, Amazon has launched 26 wind and solar renewable energy projects that will generate more than 2200 MW of renewable power.
"Our mission is to achieve the Paris Agreement 10 years in advance, and our operations will achieve zero carbon emissions by 2040," said Kara hurst, Amazon's vice president of sustainable development. And these new renewable energy projects are part of our roadmap for 80% renewable energy by 2024 and 100% renewable energy by 2030. "
